Eleven dedicated and committed Oman Sail employees have graduated with an ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) certificate after completing the Fast Track Leadership Development Programme, delivered by training partners MGi (Modern Gulf Institute).

The international ILM qualification is designed to build leadership capabilities and to ensure effective and efficient first-line managers. The fourteen modules trained have been designed to fast track the learning pathways and careers of future leaders in Oman Sail and ranged from Leadership and Performance Management to Problem Solving and Communication. The programme helped participants apply the concepts of Delegation, Time management, Goal Setting, Team Engagement and Motivation to their every day work practice.

David Graham, CEO of Oman Sail, congratulated the graduates on their achievement, saying that the professionalism and enthusiasm of the MGi Training and Assessment team coupled with the hard work of the graduates has resulted in a group of individuals with the ability to transfer new skills to the organisation.

He said, “We are proud of the commitment shown by our graduates and have already seen their newly-acquired skills in action. Oman Sail offers unique career opportunities and the chance to grow both personally and professionally, and the two-year programme delivered by MGi has helped unlock each person’s potential to lead, manage and innovate as they continue to progress in their careers.”

“I loved the ILM course! It helped me to gain the tools and confidence needed in order to better myself in the workplace and as an individual in my personal life,” said Feras Asqul, Senior Event Officer at Oman Sail. “The ILM course made me understand that there are many ways to improve yourself and others around you. Thank you MGi and ILM for making me a better person today!”

“I found the whole course really interesting and engaging. The amount of help and the knowledge I gained from this course has given me confidence, which will help me going forward in my career,” said Aymen Al-Mairki, Procurement Officer at Oman Sail.
