Oman Sail held an exclusive team building programme for the female employees of Oman Shipping Company to mark Omani Women’s Day and celebrate the achievements of women in Oman. 20 employees took part in classroom activities to learn communication, teamwork and decision-making skills then ventured out on to the water to build life rafts as a team, learn to sail and apply the new techniques to practical exercises using Oman Sail’s Corporate Personal Development programme.

Hana Al Wahaibi, Sr. Officer CSR of Oman Shipping Company said, “Oman Shipping Company is committed to empowering Omani women in the workplace and to show our appreciation of our female employees, we arranged a unique opportunity to build team unity and challenge our staff in a new environment. We are proud to offer rewarding career opportunities for women in Oman and have always provided support for employees to gain qualifications and develop in their role.”

“Women represent 23% of employees at Oman Shipping Company, and we are actively encouraging more women to choose a career that directly benefits the national economy. The team building activity with Oman Sail will help our employees develop confidence and problem-solving skills that can benefit their personal and professional lives, and help them to make an even greater contribution to our organisation.”

Ahmed Al Mamari, Corporate Personal Development Facilitator at Oman Sail, said, “Our Corporate Personal Development programme is used by graduates and professionals at every stage of their career to share the same techniques used to train elite athletes and promote the values required to succeed – in sport, professionally and personally. We are delighted to welcome Oman Shipping Company, our partners in the Oman Sail Youth Programme, to enhance the abilities of their female employees and show our appreciation for the contribution Omani women make to the ongoing development of the nation.”
