Fresh from a convincing win in the Round The Island Race in the UK, Oman Sail is looking for a strong result in the iShares Cup this weekend as they go into the second of six rounds. Both boats, Masirah and Renaissance, had strong results in the first round of the iShares Cup in Venice but both felt they could have done better.

Renaissance and Masirah in Europe
Oman Sail has entered two state of the art Extreme 40 catamarans into the 2009 iShares Cup which with world class crews on each boat competing with their Omani team members for overall glory.

The iShares Cup Extreme 40 Sailing Series consists of six premier European Race Events, hosted by Italy, France, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain - providing a solid foundation for the Extreme 40 Class as it continues to grow.
iShares Second Venue - Hyeres, France
the second venue in the 2009 iShares Cup is a return home for many skippers, none more so than Loick Peyron, skipper of Oman Sail's Renaissance. Generally a high wind venue, Hyeres is the opposite to Venice as it takes place on the open sea.
Oman Sail Welcomes New Arabian 100 Trimaran
The first Arabian 100, a new class of 105' trimaran, has arrived in the southern city of Salalah in Oman for final assembly. Built by Boatspeed in Australia, the three hulls and connecting beams were shipped on deck to Salalah via India.
Mohsin receives the "Go Mohsin" card
In an intimate presentation attended only by Oman Sail staff, Mohsin Al Busaidi was formally presented with 90 metres of printed banner bearing the signatures of up to 15,000 well wishers.
First Omani to Sail Around the World visits the Jewel of Muscat Project
Although the ships they sail are vastly different, the goals of Oman Sail and Jewel of Muscat are aligned in their goals. Both projects seek to bring a new pool of Omani talent into new areas and help them excel at the same time as raising awareness in Oman's maritime heritage.
