We launched the first para sailing programme in the Middle East in 2019 and since then SailFree, run in partnership with bp Oman and the Oman Paralympic Committee, has changed lives. By providing an opportunity for athletes to try sailing, enjoy sailing and become part of a team, we have shown the power of sport to unite. The SailFree team has changed perspectives, inspired young people across the region and shown that people with disabilities can excel on the water.
The SailFree team has made impressive progress, representing Oman at the eleventh Mussanah Race Week 2021 and at the Hansa World Championships 2021 in Palermo, Italy, and becoming role models for the next generation of athletes.
This is just the start; there is much more to come…
Dreams can come true. By reinstating para sailing to the Games, para sailors can represent their country at the pinnacle of the sport.
