2009 Bahwan DHL Oman Hobie 16 Youth Sailing Championships04 January 2010
Bahwan DHL, was proud to sponsor this up and coming dynamic sport in Oman, the 2009 Oman Hobie 16 Youth Sailing Championships. These Championships consisted of two events, an overall Open Youth event open to all comers and the National Youth Championship open for Omanis only, with the racing over two days and a highly competitive fleet this event was destined to be a very intense event and it really lived up to its reputation with the results being decided on the last race of the Championships.
Oman take 1st and 3rd in Singapore ahead of finale in Muscat16 December 2009
Oman Sail's Masirah again showed the consistency required to remain at the top of the leaderboard and take home their second consecutive win during the Asian Extreme Sailing Series. The battle for second raged on through the afternoon with Red Bull Extreme Sailing Team finally taking second place with The Wave, Muscat in third.
Oman Dominates Day 4 in Singapore 15 December 2009
On the penultimate day of racing, Masirah retain their the first place while The Wave, Muscat jumps from fifth to second place to give Oman a one-two at the top of the leaderboard. Barely putting two hulls in the water all afternoon, The Wave, Muscat was on fire. Taking three first places during the afternoon, they leapt through the rankings and by the end of the day's racing, they had jumped from fifth to second place behind their Oman Sail team mates on Masirah.
Monsoon Rains For The Fleet As Oman Leads On Day 314 December 2009
The fleet were hit with everything today - sudden rain storm that drenched the sailors and fifth men and then a sudden drop in breeze to just 2 knots as the boats wound their way around the tight courses in Marina Reservoir, Singapore.

Olympic 4x100m gold medalist and previous 100m world record holder Asafa Powell was taken to new Extremes when he stepped onboard one of the Extreme 40s during day Two of the Extreme Sailing Series Asia in Singapore today, Saturday 12 December.

The Formula 1 pit Lane in Singapore is in action again, but this time not to the drone of engines... the two Oman Sail Extreme 40s are back in action for the second leg of the Extreme Sailing Series Asia. Located at the picturesque Marina Reservoir, the state of the art 40-foot catamarans have been battling for supremacy on the tight races courses just metres off the shoreline by the Singapore Flyer. Twenty-four sailors from 8 nations and between them, three double Olympic Gold medallists, 24 World Championship titles, nine America's Cup events, 8 Round the World navigations and 114 National Championship titles are competing in this event alongside Omani sailors Khamis Al Anbouri and Nasser Al Masari.
Oman Takes Victory In First Leg Of Extreme Sailing Series24 November 2009
The red and blue sails of the Oman boats cut a blaze of glory through Hong Kong harbour to dominate the scoreboard in the final day of racing. It was bittersweet for the crew onboard The Wave, Muscat as their chance of a podium position was dashed when they suffered from equipment failure.

The penultimate day of racing in Hong Kong harbour saw perfect conditions for the six Extreme 40's that suited the Oman teams perfectly. From the first race onwards the Oman domination was there with Masirah taking the first four races and The Wave, Muscat winning the final race. Masirah sees a return to the top of the leaderboard but only seven points clear of second placed BT who dominated the second and third day of racing. The Wave, Muscat rallied at the end to take a massive lead in the final race which puts them in fourth place overall, tied with the China Team and only three points behind third places Rumbo Almeria.
Oman Sailors Fight it out In Round The Island Race22 November 2009
Over 200 boats sailed out into Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour on Sunday to take part in Hong Kong's biggest yacht race. Among them were the six Extreme 40 catamarans competing in the Hong Kong leg of the Extreme Sailing Series Asia. The race counted towards their overall scores going into the next two of days of competition. Starting at 09.40am, over an hour after the smaller boats in the fleet, the Extreme 40's were the last boats to cross the staggered start line, for this long pursuit race.

Hobie 16 National Championships
The weekend of the 1st-2nd October saw the Oman Hobie 16 National Championships taking place in the warm waters off Muscat. Three Oman Sail boats took part with Omani crews from the Academy.

The growth of competitive sailing in the Arabian Gulf and Indian Ocean is taking a further step forward as the sailing events company, OC Events (Asia), in association with Oman Sail launchesa new premier race, the 5 Capes of the Indian Ocean Race.

On Wednesday the 29th, Oman Sail visited the British Council and gave some of the Young Learners an idea of life at sea.
