Majan has set sail for the final leg of the Indian Oceans 5 Capes Race as she crossed the line to the south of Cape Piai on Tuesday 27th at midday local time leaving from Singapore and returning back to Muscat. She is expected to arrive at The Wave, Muscat on Tuesday 11th May.

Jewel of Muscat arrived safely today 18th April after sailing through a tropical storm along her route to Galle. An official delegation from Sri Lanka is currently busy preparing a welcome reception tomorrow morning (19th April). His Excellency Ahmed bin Yousif Al Harthy, Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs- Ministry of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Humaid bin Ali Al Ma'ni, Oman's Ambassador to Sri Lanka, and other dignitaries will be present at the reception to formally welcome Jewel of Muscat and celebrate the stop-over of this majestic ship as she sails to Singapore.

Hamza Al Jabri Wins Inaugural Schools Sailing Regatta

The Oman Sailing School took on a festive atmosphere this afternoon as the twenty competitors in the first ever Sailing Schools Regatta took to the water at Marina Banda Al Rowdha. Cheered on by over 150 of their classmates, friends and teachers, the children put on their buoyancy aids and competition t-shirts before heading out to test their skills in a three-race match.

Today, Sunday 5th september 2010, HH Sayyid Haitham Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture, presented Saleh Al Jabri with one of Oman's highest honours- the Medal of Honour. Bestowed upon him by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, it was presented to Saleh in light of his momentous achievement in taking the Jewel of Muscat from Muscat to Singapore.

With three events of the Extreme Sailing Series now complete in France, UK and Germany, Oman Sail’s Extreme 40 The Wave, Muscat stay on the podium, finishing third overall in Kiel leaving them second overall for the series and still in contention for the overall title.

Kiel, Germany provided some truly tricky conditions for the two Oman Sail Extreme 40s on the penultimate day of racing in Germany of the Extreme Sailing Series. Oman Sails Masirah, had a good day on the water finishing second overall going into the final day of racing, their team-mates on The Wave, Muscat had an altogether more exciting day.

24 August 2010 07:22OMAN AIR MAJAN smashes single handed record
At 09:03:55 GMT (13:03 local time Muscat) today (24/08/10) skipper Sidney Gavignet (FRA) onboard OMAN AIR MAJAN crossed the finish line off Lizard Point, Cornwall to smash the single-handed Round Britain and Ireland record. The A100 trimaran broke the existing record held by Thomas Coville by a massive 1 day 15 hours 30 minutes and 44 seconds.

Mohsin Al Busaidi joined His Royal Highness Willem Alexander, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Netherlands under whose patronage Sail Amsterdam 2010 took place on Thursday the 19th and sailed on board a DAMEN built Stad Amsterdam Clipper that led the opening of Sail Amsterdam with the presence of thousands of spectators.
