Oman's Gift To Singapore Arrives04 July 2010
On 16 February 2010, Jewel of Muscat slipped her moorings and left Port Sultan Qaboos in Muscat on a voyage of rediscovery. Nearly five months later, at sunset on 3 July 2010, she was greeted on arrival at Keppel Bay Marina by the President S.R Nathan and HH Sayyid Harib bin Thuwainy Al Said and an official delegation comprising HE Sayyid Badr Bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, HE Mohammed Bin Yousuf Al Zarafi, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other senior officials.
Tough Tour Underway03 July 2010
This year's Tour de France à la Voile has had a slow start. The first teams to arrive were faced with something they had never seen before the start of a Tour, the sun! The start of the Tour is in the North-East city of Dunkirk which is well known for it's wind-beaten waterfront but on the morning of the 26th June it was very unseasonable.

Only days remain before the international crew, skippered by renowned British offshore sailor Robert Greenhalgh, embarks on one of the biggest events in the French sailing calendar.
Jewel of Muscat Makes Last Stop Before Singapore 23 June 2010
Jewel of Muscat successfully docked in Port Klang, Malaysia at 1700hrs local time yesterday Monday (21 June). Since leaving the port of Georgetown, Malaysia last Friday, the ship made steady progress in light winds towards Port Klang and their final port stopover, arriving on schedule.

A start of 5.10am meant that the crews of Oman Sail's Masirah and The Wave, Muscat had a very early Saturday start. As the sun came up on the Isle Of Wight, on England's south coast, both Extreme 40's were already preparing for some stiff competition from the other 1,752 boats who had entered.
Oman Sail set out to Defend their Line Honours18 June 2010
This weekend the Oman Sail, Masirah team will be looking to defend their line-honours title at the annual J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race, a 50 mile dash around the Isle of Wight, situated on the South Coast of England.

On the 24th May, Abdullah Al Busaidi and Ahmed Al Maamari bid farewell to a wet and rainy Jamaica and set sail for the city that never sleeps, New York. As with so many of the other legs they have completed on their race around the world, it was the start of the race that was critical.

Hobie 16 National Championships
The weekend of the 1st-2nd October saw the Oman Hobie 16 National Championships taking place in the warm waters off Muscat. Three Oman Sail boats took part with Omani crews from the Academy.

The growth of competitive sailing in the Arabian Gulf and Indian Ocean is taking a further step forward as the sailing events company, OC Events (Asia), in association with Oman Sail launchesa new premier race, the 5 Capes of the Indian Ocean Race.
