Day 47: Racing ahead of the pace boat23 February 2009
Progress has been good we have been seeing where we are compared to the 80 day pace boat, at 2230 last night we passed a point where the pace boat will be in 8 and 1/2 days time, a pretty handy lead and there will be some chance in the next couple of days to increase it a little more.
Day 46: Storm brewing and heading east 22 February 2009
We need to get north and east by Tuesday to avoid a storm that is currently brewing off Uruguay, this storm will head very quickly south east gathering in size so getting ahead of it and away from it is our priority.
Day 45: Racing the low pressure 21 February 2009
Just after dusk the wind picked up peaking at 34 knots, by the end of the night the winds were lower but we were under pressure to get our skates on to try to miss some bad weather ahead - we are watching the skies for any sign of the return squalls.
Day 44: South Atlantic routine20 February 2009
The light airs that we predicted yesterday arrived at dawn and for a few minutes there was zero wind and we had an uncomfortable confused but oily sea that gave a wobble to the boat, making it hard to stand without holding something.
