Renaissance In Second overnight But Masirah Struggle To Find Form Saturday's racing on the IJ Haven canal of Amsterdam was a quiet affair with very little wind, as a result, very little action on the water. The wind never picked up enough for the spectators to see any fast paced action but it also meant that there were no more crashes.

Weather conditions in Kiel, Germany tested the two Oman Sail Extreme 40 teams to the limit on Day One of this fourth leg of the iShares Cup. The course, close to the shore-line, was lined with thousands of spectators as ten boats fought for first place over a series of seven short and furious races on a tight circuit.
RENAISSANCE AND MASIRAH LOOKING FOR PODIUM PLACES IN GERMANY26 August 2009
The halfway point of the iShares Cup has been and gone and it is the two Oman teams that remain firmly in the driving seat. Both teams, Masirah and Renaissance, head to Kiel, Germany with podium results in the previous leg in Cowes, England. Renaissance scored a third place in the Cowes event that took them to third place overall on the leader board and six points ahead of the America's Cup team from BMW Oracle. They are two points behind second place Gitana Extreme and three points behind the overall leaders of Oman Sail's Masirah who have had back to back victories in the last two events in France and England.

The Arabian 100 hit the water for the first time in Oman on 23rd August 2009. It's a proud day for Oman as the Arabian 100 trimaran touches water for the very first time in Salalah Port. A team of up to 30 international and Omani boat builders and specialists have worked on her at any one time and the result is this phenomenal racing craft which is sure to be making headlines soon.

An Interview With Nick Fry, CEO Brawn GP04 August 2009
Nick Fry is the CEO for Brawn GP, the team currently leading the highly competitive Formula One standings. Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello drive his racing cars, but on the last day of iShares in Cowes, Nick was a guest of Oman Sail and Henri Lloyd and sailed onboard Masirah as a fifth man. Hobie 16 National Championships
The weekend of the 1st-2nd October saw the Oman Hobie 16 National Championships taking place in the warm waters off Muscat. Three Oman Sail boats took part with Omani crews from the Academy.
